Consulting of coal mines for methane drainage

The methane volume in a coal mine dependents on many factors, such as geology, hydrogeology, gas content of the face seams and neighbouring seams, extraction methods, ventilation, layout, current and future production, etc.

We evaluate the actual situation and make proposals for optimal gas extraction from seam and goaf with following objectives

• drilling method with drilling length, diameter, distance of holes, drilling position
• piping and sealing of drainage drilling holes
• drill hole drainage and connection to the collecting grid
• Measurement methods for monitoring of volumetric flow and methane concentrations
• Design of the pipeline network of the drainage system up to the degassing station with a focus of pressure loss calculation and economic design of the system
• Calculation of the volumetric flows in the drainage system and the volume of methane for the actual and future coal production
• Concepts for gas utilization for the current and future methane production
